Akkem river
The scenic river flows Akkem in the Altai, stretching for 36 km in the territory of Ust-koksinskiy district. It originates from the Akkem glacier at the foot of mount Belukha and initially carries its waters through huge boulders and stones and then goes to gravel the area. At the end of his journey Akkem flows into the Katun. Along its shores are completely absent in the settlements, but the Altai nature is striking in its beauty. Holidays on the river Akkem will appeal to tourists who come here for meditative leisure and solitude, as well as excursions in the surrounding area: on the river, you'll Akkem lake, and not far from its source – the lake of Mountain spirits, one of the main attractions of Altai. In addition, the Akkem is often used on routes of travel alloys. But fishing here is: the river is too cold for habitation of fish.
