Recreation centers of the Karachi lake

Ozero Karachi is located in Chanovskiy district, Novosibirsk region about 400 km from Novosibirsk. It has a relatively small area of about 3.6 sq. km, but is of great value due to its medicinal properties. Stay on the lake Karachi primarily involves the improvement of the body, so this place since the late nineteenth century has the status of a resort. The main curative factor is the sulphide mud, which is extracted from the bottom of the reservoir and is used in procedures at a local resort. The second important natural resource – salt brine contained in lake water. Water itself has a bitter taste, the fish in it is not usual, but the main inhabitants are arthropods small crustaceans and plankton. The area of the lake Karachi represents an important biological system and is part of the protected natural area.
