The Kirishi district

The Kirishi district is in the southern part of the Leningrad region and covers an area of about 3000 sq. km. Is plain territory, mainly covered with mixed forests, many wetlands and several rivers. The largest and most picturesque of these is the river Volkhov. City residents and tourists come to these places for fishing and leisure on the coast, however, tourism is not very popular. While relaxing in the Kirishi district is possible on foot or by bike, have a picnic and play active games in the fresh air and explore the local attractions. However, it should be borne in mind that, basically, they are war memorials. In the 40 years of the twentieth century, it lay the front line of what is devoted to most of the monuments in the town of Kirishi and the surrounding area.
