Suoyarvi (Suarvi) lake

Lake Suoyarvi is located in suojärvi region of Karelia, covering an area of nearly 60 sq. km. On its shores is located the eponymous small town of Newtown, as well as many suburban areas and horticultural farms. The shore is predominantly rocky-sandy, in many places covered with forest, which provides excellent opportunities for a secluded eco-vacation at lake suojärvi. In Finnish language "Suoyarvi" means "marsh lake", but in reality it is beautiful and picturesque and will appeal to fans of the Karelian nature. The lake is inhabited by 11 species of fish – perch, perch, pike, roach, bream, burbot and others, so this place will appeal to avid fishermen. On the lake about 50 Islands, where you can stay with a tent and spend a few days alone with nature.
