Sandal lake

Sandalwood - the beautiful lake, in the Kondopoga district of the Republic of Karelia. The lake has 79 Islands. The Northern and Eastern shores are high, South and West low. The bottom of the lake is muddy, sandy and rocky. Sandalwood is an energy reservoir for the hydroelectric power plant of the city of Kondopoga. Rest on the pond is, above all, excellent fishing. In local waters are inhabited by such fish as pike, roach, grayling, trout, salmon, whitefish, smelt, bream, burbot, perch, ruff. Camp sites in the lake Sandal offers all opportunities for comfortable rest on the nature.
