Alatyry river

Alatyr is the largest tributary of the Sura river: its length is nearly 300 km and covers a vast area of the three regions. Alatyr flows through three districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region, two districts of Mordovia and the Chuvash part of the Republic, and then flows into the Sur on the outskirts of the Chuvash town of Alatyr. The river has a beautiful flat beach, is densely populated and covered mostly in forest and grassland vegetation. The name "Alatyr" is often found in old folklore and is associated with various legends, so that the journey along this river will be interesting to tourists who are interested in ancient culture and lifestyle of different peoples of our country. Also rest on the river Alatyr popular among water tourists and fishermen: in the course there are interesting shallows and the water is rich with fish. There is perch, pike, bream, catfish, Chub, carp, perch, Chub and other species.
