Pehorka river

The Pekhorka river flows through the territory of the Moscow region and is a tributary of the Moscow river, and its source is within the Park elk island. The river is quite large, has several tributaries and the total length of 42 km On the riverbed of the Pekhorka is formed by several ponds, the most famous of which are Saltykovskoe: they originated in the XVII century and today is considered one of the local attractions. Along the river banks has long been home to ancient tribes, in later centuries, Russian princes and counts, and in our time there are many towns and villages. In the late 90-ies of part of the coast was included in the protected area. The rest on the river Pekhorka is of interest not only for history buffs – it also know and love the fishermen. The river water is rich in bream, carp, crucian carp, roach, Rudd and other species.
