Ighora river

The river Izhora flows through the territory of Leningrad region, covering the three area – Kolpino, Tosno and Gatchina. Its length is 75 km, the River starts its journey from a small spring on the territory of the Izhora hills, flows through the Neva lowland, and then flows into the Neva. The banks of the Izhora mostly covered with meadow vegetation and low shrub in some places on the steep banks it is possible to see deposits of limestone and blue clay. While relaxing on the river Izhora, you can visit nearby towns to explore the preserved ruins of temples, fortifications and memorials. Currently, the river water is quite heavily polluted, but nevertheless, fishing is carried out. In Izhora home to pike, perch and roach, and occasionally even catches a trout or grayling.
