Pionerskoe (Kuolem-yarvi) lake

Pioneer lake is located in the picturesque place of the Karelian isthmus, covering yourselves an area of about 14 sq. km of the Finnish name – Coolum-yarvi, which translated into Russian means "lake of death". According to legend, on the shore, died a Finnish politician of the XVI century, Mikael Agricola, and in another version, the name of the lake is due to the presence of the ice key on its bottom, which was the cause of death of many people. But in our days relaxing on the lake Pioneer is a safe and is very popular with tourists and locals. Many people come here to fish, go boating, relax and sunbathe on the beach and even swimming. The lake water is clean and rich in fish: there are roach, perch, pike, bream, perch, bleak and others. In the summer, hostels offer their guests horse riding and in winter skiing and sledding.
