Seydozero lake

Seidozero is located in the Lovozero district of the Murmansk region, in a mountainous area called Lovozero tundra, and is often referred to as the "pearl" of the Kola Peninsula. It is situated at an altitude of 189 metres above sea level and stretches for 8 km in length. The name of the reservoir has Sami roots and translates as "sacred" – no wonder it is linked to various mystical stories and myths. Since the early 20-ies of XX century here sought single travellers and expeditions in search of vanished civilizations, and to this day stay in lake seydozero is of particular interest to romantics, lovers of ancient history and mysticism. At the same time, many tourists come to seidozero just to enjoy the colors of Northern nature, spend time on the beach or go swimming. On the pond are allowed to fish here, for trout, whitefish, grayling, salmon, trout and other species.
