Segozero lake

The Segozero is one of the largest lakes in the Republic of Karelia, its surface area exceeds 800 kV.km. The lake is situated at an altitude of 120 meters above sea level. In 1950-ies there were built the dam, then the lake was turned into a reservoir. In lake Segozero flows into several rivers, and flows only one – Segezha. Its picturesque shores are covered with dense coniferous forest, but the beauty of these places is not the only reason, for which tourists choose to vacation in lake Segozero. Here you can enjoy plenty of privacy and tranquility, rent a boat and take a fascinating boat trip or go fishing. In the waters of this lake is inhabited by 17 species of fish, including vendace, whitefish, ruff, perch, bream, IDE, roach and others.
