Suhona river

The longest river in the Vologda region ‒ Sukhona ‒ flows for 558 km away from the source in the Kubensky lake, to the Northern Dvina mouth. During the river journey by boat or ship during the flood you can see unforgettable beauty.

The picturesque gorge of the Flask, covered with green vegetation up to a height of 60 m, dense conifer forest ‒ is not all that may surprise Sukhona. It is not for nothing called one of the most beautiful rivers of the Russian North. The Sukhona is known for its beautiful beaches, karst lakes, unique gushing springs. Having been situated on this river the ancient cities of Totma and Veliky Ustyug ‒ you can feel the spirit of the unique Russian culture.

The Sukhona is deservedly beloved by many anglers. It is home to the sturgeon, bream, perch, ruff, bleak, perch and other freshwater fish.
