Kubenskoe lake

Kubenskoe lake is about 30 km from Vologda and has long been a popular place of recreation for urban residents. It has an elongated shape and a sandy bottom good for swimming and the total lake area is about 400 sq. km. Along its shores is located the tourist base, although many people come here on the machines just for one day just to spend time near the water. In some places the coast is swampy, but there are sandy beaches and secluded shores, covered with vegetation. Stay on the lake Kubenskoe very popular with the fishermen because it is home to many different fish, and in large quantities. You can catch pike, perch, Zander, bream, IDE, roach or perch, but fishing is allowed on different tackle from shore or from a boat. Tourists from other regions can take a boat tour of the lake and heading to the site of the confluence of the river Kubani. Here is a Stone island on which stands the Spaso-Kamenny monastery founded in the XIII century and was subsequently restored.
