Hanka lake

Ancient lake Khanka is situated in the Primorsky region on the border between Russia and China. It is the largest of all freshwater lakes of the Far East: the surface area of the reservoir covers more than 3000 sq km of Khanka is surprisingly beautiful and picturesque, and there are many floodplains that give it a special flavor. The lake is part of the Khanka nature reserve and attracts large number of tourists and locals. Its maximum depth is barely 7 metres, so the water is well heated, and a beach vacation on lake Khanka is very popular. In addition, there are excellent fishing: the lake is home to 75 species of fish, including catfish, carp, pike, Amur and silver carp. And along the coast is a vast array of mammals and birds, which gives opportunities for hunting, photography and observing wildlife.
